Robotic weight loss surgery has many advantages over laparoscopic weight loss surgery. Although laparoscopic surgery is simple and effective, it has limitations when compared to robotic-assisted surgery. The former offers only 2D imaging and has a limited range of motion, whereas robotic surgery provides 3D HD visibility. Robotic instruments are capable of moving and rotating within small confined spaces more efficiently and precisely when compared to their laparoscopic counterparts.
