Robotic and Laparoscopic Sleeve
Gastrectomy and Gastric Bypass

In laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, the surgery is carried out by creating five or six small incisions to enter the abdomen. Visualization is secured via a fiber-optic device, known as the laparoscope, which is connected to a small video camera that provides your surgeon with a 2D magnified view of the surgical space so that he sees inside your body while performing the surgery. Robotic surgery is similar, but it implements a 3D super magnified high definition view of the surgical area which allows the procedure to be performed with high precision. Compared to laparoscopic surgery, robotic-assisted surgery provides the surgeon with a greater range of precision, motion and overall efficiency. This may result in less bleeding, smaller incisions, and quicker recovery for patients.
