Robotic and Laparoscopic Reflux and
Hiatal Hernia Surgery
Laparoscopic reflux and hiatal hernia surgery is usually limited to a 2-dimensional view and a lesser magnification. This hampers, sometimes while operating, precise recognition of anatomic structures in confined areas with abundant adhesions or anatomical abnormalities. These procedures require refined control and precise movements, hence robot-assisted surgery is considered superior. It provides 3D visualization which enables the surgeon to perform delicate dissection in small and confined spaces with the robotic instruments that mimic human hands in their action.
